Schematic Keynote - Part 1 from Nicholas Ng on Vimeo.

As promised, the keynote above was presented about two weeks ago. Nothing too mind blowing, but it also wasn’t the greatest presentation ever. Adding to my lack of sleep and enthusiasm to present my project, the overall reaction was lukewarm the most. It wasn’t fully unexpected as time was a very big factor in play. I couldn’t and didn’t have enough time and the capabilities to develop of three schemes in the short amount of time allotted. It probably sounds like I’m whining and giving excuse, but juggling between work and school is not an easy task. In any case, the main critique I have was not so much about the use of words, of talking about this and that but not carrying throughout the way, it was mainly about my analytical thinking of the site. That was probably my most frustrating moment. I thought I already went through that in the previous presentation with the committee members.

But lesson learned. The past few months have been very tiring and I realized that I’ve been walking in a linear line, never looking back at what I’d proposed at the very beginning.

Process-Strategy-Linear
Sure, the idea may change and shift gears once a while, but that doesn’t happen in a linear fashion (as shown above). I should really be constantly going back and forth between each process and not just keep going forward where it seems like I’m proposing new idea and thesis in every review.
