This is irrelevant to my thesis research, but what if outdoor billboard/poster advertising does not exist? Would that make our cities ‘boring’? What if advertisers could design a building to sell their products without an in your face message? What if there was a building dedicated to the art of selling? Unlike a mall where the windows are static, imagine storefronts with big screens selling products, with consumers on a movable walkway looking at ads, picking and choosing their desired products all housed in a 10, 20 stories high building. Apparently, no matter how crazy that idea may sound, it is closer than I thought it would be. The people at Rugby.com have already took that approach of selling their items on the sidewalk using an interactive screen. That big building might just be on its way.
