Final Pre-Design Keynote from Nicholas Ng on Vimeo.

Presented the keynote above on Thursday’s review. Overall the feedback were pretty good. Observations from the critics were spot on and suggested good directions on how to pursue the next step in schematic. Critiques on the presented “schemes” were fair as the presented ideas were produced on a last minute and were not fully developed, thus the next step will focus on reviewing those strategies and provide a more analytical point of view of the site and the proposed building.

After the review:

I do notice that there’s a big jump from the conceptual idea to the program  which needs a filter to fully understand what the proposed structure would be. In short, the proposed thesis will be a series of individual housing blocks spread around a compound linked by events and exhibits, with each individual units acting as its own “museum” – creating an archive of physical social interaction. Similar to the idea of social media tools i.e. twitter/facebook, the units will have the ability to filter their privacy for public viewing and vice versa, yet still have the ability to update their status but not revealing too much of their personal info.
